Now lockdown for two days a week to be imposed in districts with high infection


Night Curfew to be imposed from 8.00 p.m. to 5.00 a.m.
Offices and establishments will function with 30 to 50 percent capacity
CM Shri Chouhan reviews Corona situation and arrangements

The Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said total lockdown will be imposed for 2 days in a week in districts with high infection to stop corona infection in the state. Apart from essential services, all other activities will be prohibited. Lockdown will be imposed on Sunday, the second day; either Saturday or Monday will be decided as per the decision of the District Crisis Management Group. Night curfew will be imposed in all districts from 8.00 p.m. to 5.00 a.m.

The Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that excluding infection free districts, all the offices of the State and Union Government will function with 30 to 50 percent capacity, cent percent officers will reach offices. Private offices and commercial establishments will also function with 30 to 50 percent capacity. In case of any corona patient found at private offices and commercial establishments, they will be closed for 7 days.

The Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was reviewing the situation of corona and arrangement in the state through video conferencing at Mantralaya today. The Minister for Home Dr. Narottam Mishra, Minister for Medical Education, Bhopal Gas Tragedy, Relief and Rehabilitation Shri Vishwas Sarang, Minister for Public Health and Family Welfare Dr. Prabhuram Chowdhary, Chief Secretary Shri Iqbal Singh Bains, DGP Shri Vivek Johri, Additional Chief Secretary Health Shri Mohammad Suleman, Additional Chief Secretary Home Shri S.N. Mishra and other officers were present on the occasion.

Pay special attention to villages

It was informed during the review that earlier there was corona infection in 53 villages of the state and now the infection remains in only 17 villages out of these villages. The Chief Minister Shri Chouhan directed that special precautions should be taken in villages in order to prevent spread of corona infection further.

Officers-employees who fail to follow guideline will be punished

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan directed that action will be taken against any officer-employee who does not wear mask, does not follow physical distancing or violates the Corona guidelines in any way. Taking serious note of the violation of guidelines by some government officials at a wedding ceremony in Jabalpur, the Chief Minister issued instructions that their list should be made available and action should be taken against them.

Lockdown proved advantageous for Gwalior and Morena

In a review of Gwalior and Morena districts, it was found that there is decline in Corona infection due to the lockdown. In Gwalior, the positivity rate reached 15 percent in previous days, which has been reduced to 7 percent after the latest lockdown. The lockdown in Morena has reduced the positivity rate to 1.6 percent. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan directed that further lockdown will be considered after a meeting with the District Crisis Management Group. Lockdown should be opened gradually.

“Burhanpur Model” must be adopted

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that despite being a border district, the work that has been done in Burhanpur to prevent Corona infection is commendable. All other districts, especially the border districts of our state should adopt Burhanpur model. Burhanpur developed a good system of monitoring people coming from other states as well as from infected areas and quarantined them in their homes for 14 days. This helped a lot in preventing infection.

Frequent gathering must be avoided to prevent spread of infection

A review of Corona infection revealed that one of the main reasons for spread of infection in other districts, including Bhopal, is the gathering of people. For this, people have to be made aware that they should avoid gathering and maintain physical distancing. People should not gather in large numbers anywhere.

All upcoming festivals must be celebrated at home

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan appealed to the public to celebrate all upcoming festivals including Raksha Bandhan, Eid etc. at home. No permission will be granted for celebration of festivals in public.

Pulse oximeters to ASHA workers

Minister Dr. Prabhuram Choudhary suggested that pulse oximeters and temperature guns should be made available to ASHA workers in every village, so that early identification of Corona patients can be made easier. He also said that fever clinics must be made more effective
